R&P extension tube

The Jefa rack and pinion extension tube is used when a straight connection from the underside of the rack and pinion pedestal to the rudder shaft is not possible. The RP extension tube extends the pedestal down shaft, so the output lever can be fitted on a lower level.
The extension tube is made of Aluminium 6082 with an outside diameter of 69 mm. The 50 mm bottom insert is solid and fits into the 50 mm self-aligning flange bearing.
The extension tube connection is made on a way that no special adoptions have to be made to the R&P pedestal: The existing down tube slides into the bush and is locked with two 10 mm keys and clamping bolts, so any existing R&P pedestal can be upgraded with an extension tube. The output lever on the pedestal down tube will only function as rudder stop.
One-off extension tubes will have the output lever welded on, except when no dimensions have been specified. In this case the tube will be delivered in overlenght and the insert and lever will have to be welded on by the installer.
The R&P extension tube is also ideal for twin rudder boats with racked rudder stocks as this system will provide the necessary room to set up a draglink connection to both rudders.
